WELCOME to the Department of Geology,University of Ibadan Alumni Association's Site.

The University of Ibadan was founded in 1948 as a college of London University, with 104 students spread among three faculties: Arts, Sciences and Medicine. It became an autonomous degree-granting institution in 1962.

The Vision

"To reposition the Department of Geology for global competitiveness and make her a model amongst other Departments in the entire Country."

The Strategy

The Strategy is a very simple one and is hinged on a synergy between the industry and the academics,

through active participation of the Alumni of the Department. The following approach is employed:

• Identification and completion of one major project for the Department every year
• Promotion of a creative and collaborative work environment between the Department and other leading Institutions all over the world
• Pursuance of continuous learning and sharing in all aspects of geo-sciences between the industry players and the academic.
